PPG Architectural Coatings Czech Republic operates from four main sites – a head office in Prague, manufacturing in Brasy and distribution from regional wholesaling warehouses in Brno and Jirny.

A total of over 450 employees work within the Czech Republic 150 of which are employed in the national network of ‘Dum Barev’ paint stores which can be found in key towns and cities throughout the country. PPG manufactures for both professional and DIY consumers under the brands Primalex, Balakryl and Praktik which all have extensive distribution.
Triga wholesale (www.trigacolor.cz) supplies an extensive range of products from PPG and other leading manufacturer brands to meet the needs of independent paint retailers.

Primalex (www.primalex.cz) is the country’s leading wallpaint brand and has a heritage which stretches back 40 years. Manufactured to the highest standard, Primalex is one of the few companies within the country which operates in accordance with internationally recognised quality systems.

Primalex is also a leading authority in colour with the ‘Inspiro’, ‘Fortissimo’ and ‘Bonus’ ready mixed colour ranges as well as having in excess of 300 in-store colour mixing systems offering thousands of colour options.

Balakryl (www.balakryl.cz) is the leading water based lacquers brand supplying DIY, professional painters and industrial customers. The Balakryl brand was acquired by PPG in 2009. The combined technical and marketing expertise available within Balakryl and PPG ensures that it retains its strong market position.

Johnstone’s (www.johnstones.cz) is the premium paint brand from PPG in the UK and offers a range of professional paints that is truly second to none. The brand can be purchased through the Dum Barev network and leading independent retailers.

Sustainability
All PPG locations in the Czech Republic are committed to improving the sustainability of the company and have programmes designed around a framework of environment, social and economic pillars:

Environment
PPG’s business in Czech operates in accordance with an Environmental Quality system and PPG corporate Health & Safety rules
Primalex ensures that all water from the manufacturing of paints at the Brasy production site is treated before it is returned to nature.
PPG Czech Republic segregates material for environmentally friendly disposal and / or recycling.

Social
Primalex invests in the local community by providing sponsorship to the Brasy junior football club.
Balakryl is supporting the Tereza Maxova Foundation to open sheltered housing for orphans.The Triga wholesale business regularly organizes open days to promote painting amongst youngsters in the local community.PPG Czech promotes healthy living and frequently organises ‘Wellness Weeks’ events for all employees. The PPG Dum Barev shop network support kindergartens in free time activity for children.

Economic
PPG Czech supports the education of Professionals Painters by organizing events in cooperation with Paint Producers Association of the Czech Republic. PPG use the “Czech Made” quality seal on packaging and communication of locally produced PPG products.
