PPG has NSF/ANSI Standard 60 Listings under the Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals - Health Effects heading for several products manufactured/packaged at various locations. Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) and Chlorine manufactured at the New Martinsville (Natrium, West Virginia), Lake Charles (Louisiana), and Beauharnois (Quebec, Canada) plants are listed. Hydrochloric Acid (Muriatic Acid) manufactured at the Beauharnois location is also listed. The maximum use level for Sodium Hydroxide liquid (Liquid Caustic Soda 50%) is 200 mg/L and Sodium Hydroxide solid (Pels® Caustic Soda Beads) is 100 mg/L. The maximum use level for Chlorine is 30 mg/L and the maximum use level for Hydrochloric Acid is 40 mg/L.

PPG also manufactures and sells Calcium Hypochlorite under various brand names such as Accu-Tab®, Pittabs®, Induclor®, Pittclor®, and Zappit™ Granules. These products are NSF/ANSI Standard 60 listed. The maximum use level for Calcium Hypochlorite is 15 mg/L (65% available chlorine) and 14 mg/L (70% available chlorine). The granular product is manufactured at the New Martinsville, West Virginia, plant and made into tablets at the Sauget, Illinois and Tyler, Minnesota locations. In addition, several of our Accu-Tab chlorinators are NSF Standard 50 listed for swimming pools and NSF Standard 61 listed for drinking water system components.

PPG also has NSF White Book™ Listings for Sodium Hydroxide, Caustic Soda and Calcium Hypochlorite. These Listings are USDA-authorized and NSF-registered proprietary substances and nonfood compounds.
