HAPs Compliant

PPG is ahead of the pack with environmentally friendly coatings

PPG offers coatings allowing customers to reduce their Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP) emissions and is continually developing products to meet specific applications.

Two coatings already in commercial use are PPG's HAPs compliant side seam stripe for food can interiors and clear end enamel for TFS and ETP food can ends.

The side seam stripe demonstrates excellent pack resistance and is also BADGE-free.

The food can end enamel provides excellent flexibility and super scuff resistance.

PPG monitors regulatory issues around the world to be able to anticipate future customer requirements for compliant formulas. As an example, development is under way for an electrocoat product for aluminum beer and beverage can ends that would be fully compliant with pending HAPs legislation.

PPG's goal is to develop formulas that address can makers' environmental concerns while providing the performance characteristics they need.
