Coatings for PET bottles
Used on more than 3 billion commercial bottles, Bairocade® coatings from PPG are unique, patented epoxy-amine organic coatings specifically designed to upgrade the gas barrier of conventional plastic bottles.
These revolutionary coatings are applied through conventional liquid coating methods to the bottle exterior. Bairocade coatings imparts physical toughness and humidity resistance with a pleasing clear or colored, glossy finish. Bairocade coatings can be easily removed with standard aqueous stripping agents, so the container can be recycled.
Applying one of these external coatings to a PET container can greatly extend the shelf life of beer, carbonated beverages and food products!
