Understanding LEED®

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) through its Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED), is the nationally accepted benchmark rating system for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

The LEED® standard has been adopted nationwide by federal, state and local governments and interested private companies as the guideline for sustainable building.

The LEED® Green Building System is a performance-oriented rating system where points are earned for satisfying specific green building criteria in five major categories:
            Materials & Resources (paint)
            Energy & Atmosphere
            Sustainable Sites
            Water Efficiency
            Indoor Air Quality (paint)

Your paint choice contributes to LEED® certification. PPG Industries, through its Pittsburgh & Porter Paints brands can help you earn LEED® points with a wide range of green paint products.
