While the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) doesn’t certify individual building products, it does recognize that the selection of such products can play a vital role in making a building LEED compliant.

At PPG, we’re committed to helping you build green and earn LEED certification for your projects.  Below are some resources that can assist you in the explanation and submission of PPG glass, metal coatings and paints products when pursuing a LEED project.

Products That Contribute to LEED Certification
Summary of PPG Product Contributions to LEED – This document provides a brief overview of PPG glass, metal coatings and paint products that can contribute to a LEED project when used as directed, and for the intended application.

PPG Product Contribution to all LEED Platforms – This matrix identifies PPG’s contribution to each of the current USGBC LEED platforms (as of June 2007).

Sample template to determine regional material credit. - This sample template helps you calculate costs of materials to determine your eligibility for a regional material credit.

Why Cullet May Not be Recycled Content– This document provides an explanation of the definitions and requirements of the referenced standards for the recycled content of glass when pursuing a LEED, or other, building rating certification.

Paints
Pure Performance Paint, GreenSeal, Class A Certification – Pittsburgh Paints® Pure Performance line of paint products complies with the environmental and performance requirements of the Green Seal Environmental Standard for Paints.

VOC Budgeting Form – Only for use in unique cases where high VOC paint is the only option.

Paint Primer Must Meet Non-Flat VOC Levels – According to the USGBC, a primer’s VOC content must not exceed 150 grams per liter, allowing for additional PPG primer products to be listed as products that contribute to a LEED project.

List of Pittsburgh Paints® that can contribute to a LEED Project – This document lists all of the PPG paint products that can earn LEED-NC credits.
