Wet chopped strands are used mainly for production of well-formed mat or veil to reinforce applications such as roofing material, vinyl floor covering, plaster or paper. Chopped strands are made by chopping wet continuous glass fibers in lengths usuall between 3 and 12 millimeters (1/8 to 1/2 inch), and they are sold with an average water content of 10% of product weight.
