The ingredient in Sustain Alkalinity Increaser is Sodium Bicarbonate. It is essentially 100% strength. Its function is to add Total Alkalinity (TA) to pool water. An ideal TA range is 80 - 100 ppm. In cases of very soft water (<200 ppm Calcium Hardness) or very high hardness, the TA can be adjusted above or below this range.
