Troubleshooting: High Free Chlorine

(FAC >3 ppm)

Cause	Immediate Corrective Action	Preventive Follow-up
Tablet delivery too rapid	Decrease tablet delivery by using the adjustible dispenser lid.	Adjust tablet delivery to maintain 1-3 ppm FAC.
Use of OTO Chlorine Test which gives a false Free Available Chlorine (FAC) reading	Do not use OTO Test Kit. Use 3-way Test Strips or a DPD Test kit to measure FAC.
