The PPG Global Identity System encompasses several graphic elements.

The logo is the solid, round-cornered graphic element that contains the three letters “PPG.” This logo must be used consistently and in the proportions shown here. |
The logotype is the full communicative name (such as PPG Industries and PPG Aerospace) used by the corporate SBU or department. (The logotype does not use its legal name, which requires the “Inc.” or “Ltd.”). |
The signature is a combination of the logo with the appropriate logotype. |
The signature for a global corporate name is a combination of the logo with the appropriate logotype (such as PPG Japan). |
Signatures can feature a descriptive line under the logotype that describes a corporate unit (such as Corporate Finance). |
Joint venture companies in which PPG Industries has fifty percent (50%) or more ownership, may use the PPG logo in combination with the joint venture partner’s name (such as PPG Dongju and PPG Asian Paints). Such use will be upon request to, and approval by PPG. Also, such use shall be in accordance with PPG Global Identity Standards. |
The legal name requires the use of the designation “Inc.,” Ltd., etc., as part of the name, such as PPG Industries, Inc. and PPG Japan Ltd. The legal name must appear in all addresses. |
| |
The PPG corporate logo is a trademark that is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in virtually every country in the world in which PPG does business. To protect the corporation’s proprietary rights, the logo must be used according to the following principles.
- The corporate logo must appear only in its approved form. It may not be cut apart, added to, hand drawn, altered, or distorted in any way, nor colored in a manner that causes its appearance to differ from its approved form.
- The corporate logo should be used to identify all PPG products, facilities and services. It must not be used to identify products, facilities or services other than those of PPG.
- When used by a subsidiary, dealer, distributor or other pursuant to written permission given by PPG, such permission must always require a format which makes clear that the logo identifies PPG and not the other entity, its products or services.
- The corporate logo may stand alone or be used in an approved signature format. It should never be used as part of another design, logo, or graphic identity and should not be used as a decoration or in a capricious manner
