Logo Questions

Q. What is the color for PPG Blue?

A. Printed paper swatches from which you can make a visual match to PPG Blue are available from Corporate Marketing and Communications. In lieu of PPG Blue, you may use PANTONE® 307, the standards for which are as shown in the current edition of the PANTONE Color Formula Guide.

PANTONE® Colors displayed here may not match PANTONE-identified standards. Refer to current PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® Publications to view accurate PANTONE color standards. PANTONE® and other Pantone, Inc. trademarks are the property of Pantone, Inc. Portions © Pantone, Inc., 2000.

The PPG Blue color can also be created using four-color process, called CMYK or RGB and Web-safe hex code formulas for TVs, computer monitors and electronic displays.

Q. Can I use the chromatic “rainbow” logo on formal business stationery, or must I use PPG Blue?

A. PPG Blue or black are the preferred colors for formal stationery and business forms (purchase orders, checks, requisitions and envelopes). The chromatic logo can be used for any application, based on good business decisions, as long as it is used only on a black or white background.

Q. I’m designing a new logo for a local plant promotion? Can I use the PPG logo as part of it?

A. No. The PPG logo is a valuable asset. It identifies the company, its products and services and distinguishes them from those of our competitors. The PPG logo must stand alone and separate from any other logo, trademark or design element. With the exception of specific guidelines for using the corporate logo with other PPG trademarks and product marks, the corporate logo must not be attached to, surrounded by, inserted into, reversed out of or incorporated into any other mark or design configuration.
