PPG business managers review security measures

Rege Becker, global director of security and compliance, provides a security briefing to PPG business managers.
June 29, 2006 - PPG’s corporate security team, joined by a representative of the U.S. Department of State, met with various PPG officials this month to discuss security concerns PPG might face as its businesses expand into Eastern Europe and the Russian Federation.

Rege Becker, global director of security and compliance; Ty Sellers, corporate security manager; and Laura Kugut, Eastern Europe coordinator for the State Department’s Overseas Security Advisory Council, provided about 30 PPG business managers with a security overview of the Russian Federation, including issues revolving around the country’s business culture, various types of crime and corruption, and lessons learned by other corporations expanding into the region.

“This is part of our ongoing security effort to educate and protect PPG employees no matter where they are located,” said Becker about the meeting at PPG’s glass technology center in Harmar Township, Pa.

“As our company continues to expand around the world, we want to make sure PPG employees are safe wherever they travel or conduct business.”
