After college, I was hired as a bilingual Technical Liaison Representative at PPG Cleveland Automotive Coatings plant. Started training in the lab, mixing paint and doing testing for the Mitsubishi Team. After 1 ½ years in the lab, transferred to PPG UK, located in Birmingham, England. My main responsibilities were to assist in new color development and customer line trials with our Asian automotive customers based in Europe. Six years ago I returned to the US in the current position. We have an office inside Subaru of Indiana Automotive, where we provide technical support for our products.

PPG is a good company to work for. It is a responsible company to its workers, the community, the environment and its shareholders. It is a big company, but the sense of family still exists. A few years ago when we were vacationing in Rio I spotted someone with a PPG hat. Immediately I talked to him and he was an employee at our facility in Sao Paulo. It was nice to see someone related to PPG even on vacation.

Best thing about my Business Unit: The best thing in this job is the close involvement with cars. We can see how a car is “born”: designed, welded, painted and assembled. It is exciting to see the products you sell on the vehicles in the streets. “We painted that car and that one too!”
