Supply Chain Management
Name: Jason Title: Supervisor of Logistics Education: BS Business Logistics - Pennsylvania State University; MBA - University of Pittsburgh Years at PPG: 4 Business Unit: Corporate Logistics Location: General Office
After graduating from Penn State in May of 1997 I went to work for Frito-Lay as a Warehouse Supervisor at their plant in Aberdeen, MD. I was responsible for two shifts of warehouse material handlers and company fleet drivers. I was also a team leader for their corporate supply chain software development and national implementation projects.
In September 1999 I accepted an International Supply Chain Analyst position with Ecolab at their headquarters in St. Paul, MN. My focus at Ecolab was on designing a global warehouse network to supply key customers at remote ports around the world. I was responsible for production planning, forecasting and inventory management for each of these facilities. After receiving a promotion to Senior Analyst in 2001 I also began negotiating and managing all export ocean freight contracts.
I started with PPG as a Senior Logistics Analyst in September of 2002. My primary responsibilities were managing heavy air freight, small package, and ground expedite carrier contracts and supply chain improvement projects. In September 2004 I was promoted to Supervisor of Logistics, within the Corporate Logistics group, as I assumed responsibility for all outbound chemical rail freight. I now also manage the rail and bulk truck freight for inbound glass and fiber glass raw materials.
Professional Organizations: National Industrial Transportation League, Penn State Alumni Association, University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association, Beta Gamma Sigma – Honorary Business Society
Best thing about my Business Unit: Interaction with all PPG business units.
