In 1988 PPG Ibérica establishes an affiliate company in Portugal in order to give a more direct service and support to the local customers in the Automotive, Refinish and Industrial markets.
When PPG associates with Bollig & Kemper, a new legal entity is established, PPG Revestimentos para Automóveis, AEIE, who starts operating in the Auto Europa Supplier Park in 1994. Since then to date, PPG manages the Paint Shop line of this customer on a Cost per Unit basis. By means of this very breakthrough scheme, introduced initially at the Palmela, plant, the manufacturer entrusts in a single source the supply of all the products and most of the services of the paint shop, for a previously agreed price per finished body.
To the sales and technical assistance given to the initial Automotive, Refinish and Industrial, markets, in recent years has been added the support to Packaging customers.
