Transparency Rebuild Services
The newest service PPG offers aircraft operators for increased product value is transparency rebuild.
Having windshields and windows repaired enables operators to extend their service life and reduces operating costs without sacrificing performance and safety.
With authorization from the airframe manufacturer, PPG-rebuilt windows meet high quality standards and are repaired in accordance with procedures approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and the airframe manufacturer. PPG is certified by the FAA to repair windows and operate a Repair Station, and has FAA Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representatives (DMIRs) on site at its Huntsville plant to facilitate required product inspection and paperwork preparation. PPG also is certified to EASA-145.
Windshields and windows with broken outer glass or failed anti-icing systems are rebuilt using the original undamaged structural plies. Units undergoing these repairs are warranted as new parts.
