PPG launches new dissolvable abrasive for paint line maintenance
Total Service Solutions, a product management group of PPG Industries introduced an innovative dissolvable abrasive called Clean Logic DA1 as part of its offering of Clean Logic paint line maintenance products and services. When traditional paint line cleaners are not completely effective, abrasive additives are used to remove hard-to-clean residual soils that can cause paint defects. Unfortunately, the same abrasive additives that aid in cleaning often become sources of paint defects due to the difficulty of their removal from the paint line. Clean Logic DA1’s dissolvable nature allows it to be removed easily from the paint line, greatly reducing its potential to cause subsequent paint defects. Also, the product’s unique surface topography – a result of its custom cryogenic manufacturing – contributes to its abrasiveness, helping to reduce line-cleaning time. Clean Logic paint line maintenance products and services provide our customers with a superior alternative in the management of paint line maintenance activities, also paint line system audits, laboratory analysis, proven technologies and methodologies, coupled with Secure Launch practices by PPG, help to ensure that paint lines are clean and do not contribute to paint defects. The end result is improved first-run capability.
Waterborne Anti-Settling Technology by PPG Makes Mixing Machines Obsolete
Anti-settling toner technology incorporated into PPG Industries‘ new waterborne basecoat systems is enabling collision repair shops shifting to waterborne products to eliminate a mechanical mixing machine - and a major source of color mismatches. By comparison, the anti-settling toners used in our Aquabase PLUS and Envirobase High Performance (HP) basecoat systems do not require mechanical agitation. A simple shake by hand is all that's required to ensure the pigments are dispersed evenly and ready to pour.
Anti-settling technology makes mixing colors particularly fast and easy. No longer do you have to wait 10 minutes for a toner to be stirred. Just shake and pour.
