On September 28, 2007, with the inauguration of the Tianjin TEDA Training Center in the TEDA Industrial Park, a classroom named after PPG’s own in-house Training Center was officially opened. The PPG Asia Pacific Academy has the honor of being the first company to name a classroom at the center. Government officials from Tianjin Municipal and TEDA, and Mr. Ye Disheng, the ex-mayor of Tianjin, joined the ceremony. Guests and leaders were impressed after visiting the new classroom. The Training Center, with a construction area of 23,000 square meters and equipped with modern training facilities, will provide training courses in ten major fields, including electronic communication, automotive, mechanical (model) manufacturing, bio-pharmaceuticals, food inspection, logistics, foreign languages, computer science, management and modern service. Establishing the training center played a significant role in enhancing the investment environment of the TEDA Industrial Park, and providing high quality technicians for enterprises. Previously, PPG has established scholarship programs in universities throughout China to support and encourage the innovation of University students.
